Where has the time gone??? My first little girl is 10 years old! It seems like yesterday I was bringing her home from the hospital wondering what in the world I was going to do with this little person! Do I pick her up or let her just lay there? How many times should I change her? What exactly should we be doing besides just sitting there watching her sleep? I wish I had a video of what we actually were doing that first week with her at home. Of course with the first baby I didn’t sleep for fear that I wouldn’t hear her if she needed me, or fear that she was going to stop breathing for some reason. I had all the paranoia that a first time mom should have. After 10 years I can honestly say that I am probably just as bad today as I was back then. Today is a different set of worries though. Is she going to fall out of the tree and break her arm? Is she going to ride her bike to fast and somehow fall and skin her leg? Is she going to miss me when she is sleeping over at a friends house?? I know these seem like minor worries but my heart still aches the same when she is out of my sight. I can’t say how much pride I feel when I look at her today as a big 10 year old. She is full of energy and spunk and her smile is a mile wide! One thing about Carley is that she is always having fun. That is exactly the way it should be. She is growing faster than I care for her to, but I know that she is a happy and healthy girl. I am looking forward to what she can accomplish in life. I know she will go far. So with that said I guess I will just do a rewind in my head of all the things she has done these past 10 years and keep those memories close to my heart because I know there are a lot more to come!!

Justin Bieber Tickets!!

For spring break we got to go to Leavenworth Kansas for a few days to visit our buddies we had from Okinawa.  They have been there for a couple of years and are moving soon so we wanted to see them before the Air Force ships them off again.  We first met them in Okinawa and soon realized they were rival Clemson fans.  We had to over look that since they are from our great state of SC We first met them in Okinawa a few years back and soon realized that it felt like we had known them forever.  They also have two girls, Hannah and Ella.  The girls seemed to pick up right where they had left off.  You would have never known it had been 2 years since they had gotten to play together other than a quick lunch we had together in SC last year.  It was fun to get to see where they lived and hang out with them for a few days.  We had fun and hopefully they don’t move too far away so we can plan a trip again for the near future! We love you guys!!

Since living in Japan for the past three years we missed out on all the Christmas festivities in SC, but this year was different.  We loaded up and headed out of Altus!  Our plan was to fly to SC on the 21st but as we all know how things work when you try to plan a trip sometimes it doesn’t quite work out as planned.  Our layover was in Washington DC and as luck would have it our flight got cancelled!  We couldn’t get a flight out until the 23rd.  Thanks to United they put us up in the Hyatt in a beautiful little town close to the airport.  Since we had always wanted to take the girls to DC we finally got to.  We spent the day sightseeing in a snowy DC.  It was the girls first time seeing snow so they were over the top excited!  Our hotel also was right beside a beautiful open air ice skating rink with Christmas music playing.  It just seemed magical out there on the ice.  We rented a car and went downtown to see the White House and many other monuments.  We had a great time in DC.

After leaving DC we finally made it to SC.  We got to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas day with our family.  The girls loved being with all their cousins and grandparents.  They got lots of Santa stuff and lots of presents from everybody else.  They had a fun time and hopefully they will cherish the memories.

My baby just turned 6!  The years seem to go by faster and faster.  As the days go by I try to live in the moment with my girls.  I know they won’t stay little for long.  It seems like yesterday that I was having Kendall and now she is 6.  I love the fact that she is healthy, smart, happy, active, funny, and beautiful but I long for the days that I could just hold her in my arms while she sleeps and watch her breathe and smile while she is dreaming her sweet dreams.  Even though she has gotten older and she tells me she is not a baby anymore, she still is my loving little Kendall that lets me snuggle with her at night before she goes to bed.  She still wants me to walk with her in the mornings to her line at school.  She still gives me lots of hugs and kisses, even in front of her friends.  She still loves it when I scratch her back and she still tells me “mommy, I love you so much that I can’t even tell you how much it is, because it’s so much!”  I love her to the moon and back a thousand times over and I am so blessed to have her.  I know she is going to have a big bright future and even though my heart hurts to know she won’t stay little forever, I am thrilled to watch her grow and watch her change through the years.  Happy Birthday Kendall!  Mommy, Daddy, and Carley love you!

The girls started playing soccer a couple of weeks ago and they both love it!  I wasn’t worried at all about how Carley would like playing again.  She always gives 100% of herself .  Kendall on the other hand is a different story.  The last time she played she would run a few yards and need a break.  ha ha.  Well last Saturday they both had their first game and they looked like pros!  Both teams won their first game.  Carley’s team is called Blue Dynamite and Kendall’s team is called Silver Dragons.  They were so cute playing.  Kendall actually scored 3 goals!  She was all over the field.  I could tell she really enjoyed playing this time.  They both did great and we couldn’t be more proud of them!
